27 Tonne Generator Rotor Overhaul

Genertech has a long term affiliation with Toshiba. An example of this working relationship was the overhaul of Jeeralang A4 Power Station's generator rotor.
Works included:

Carry out concentricity checks on rotor;

Carry out electrical tests on rotor windings (tests to include IR, RSO) prior to removing rotor retaining rings;

Carry out daily IR test of generator rotor and record test results, whilst the rotor is at the Contractor’s Workshop;

Remove rotor retaining rings;
-
Remove coupling;
-
Carry out NDT of rotor shaft change in section;
-
Carry out NDT of cooling fan blades;
-
Thoroughly clean and inspect the slip rings;
-
Carry out visual inspection of rotor windings
-
Carry out electrical tests on rotor windings (tests to include IR, RSO and others as agreed);
-
Provide written report and recommendations on findings;
-
Re-insulate rotor end windings;
-
Carry out electrical tests on rotor windings (tests to include IR, RSO and others as agreed);
-
Apply metal spray coating to shrink fit area of machined retaining rings;
-
Re-assemble generator rotor components;
-
Fit rotor retaining rings;
-
Replace coupling;
-
Carry out NDT on rotor retaining rings after fitting (dye-penetrant);
-
Carry out electrical tests on rotor windings (tests to include IR, RSO);

Varnish rotor body;
-
Apply protective coatings to rotor retaining rings;

Prepare for transport to site
